Nightcrawler, folks! (AKA Kurt Wagner, AKA the bamf doll that Kurt uses to woo his girlfriend.)

Yours truly swore she would knit this thing roughly fifteen months ago. Then put it on hiatus for a year. Then restarted and finished it in all of ten days. Was it worth the wait?

    Very cool!

I guess my question is, as an aspiring professional artist, is the market strong for these sketch covers? seems like you put a lot of work into that one. I'm always afraid to put any real work on them because I'm not well known enough to charge for the time. do you have any advise on how to handle covers at conventions? thank you. - Charles

Thanks! This Amazing Spider-Man #1 sketch cover was a LOT of fun to do! I did it at my studio so I could devote more uninterrupted time to it.

However, most sketch covers I draw on are at cons. About 1/3 of my commissions seem to be on sketch covers. But the fans bring them to me to sketch on. I don’t provide the covers.
I have my charges for various types of commissions posted and discussed upfront. So whether it’s on Bristol board or a sketch cover, the client and I both know what’s what.
It takes some time to hone in on the right price and fair price for convention commissions. As your skills and brand grow, you should be able to find that sweet spot. (PS. Nice work, BTW!)
